Reflections on the Beatty-Stallion Combined camp 2015

The combined scout camp provided us Stallion Ventures with the opportunity to not participate actively, but also to lead and bond with our junior scouts from Beatty. There were numerous activities, such as backswoodsman cooking and even a walk through the school in the dark of the night.
As a Venture who is rather new to the whole notion of scouting skills, the session on backswoodsman cooking and pioneering developed my competency in these areas. In addition, working together in order to accomplish the task at hand was a formative experience, as I grew closer to my fellow Ventures and even the younger scouts. 
I also had the opportunity to kick start the Explorer badge journey for the younger scouts. As part of my AIC towards the Venture Cord Award, I will be imparting knowledge and skills on exploration to my junior scouts. Their willingness and enthusiasm to learn during the camp was encouraging, and I hope to further pique their interest in the sessions to come.  In hindsight, I thoroughly enjoyed myself throughout this camp, and it is truly a memorable experience. The camp was organized and executed smoothly, thanks to the organizing team from Beatty itself, as well as our Stallion Rovers, who took time off their busy schedules to facilitate the activities. Last but not least, I definitely cannot forget Mr, Alex Choy, teacher-in-charge of the Beatty scout unit. Without him, this camp would certainly have not been possible.
